We organised Sarcoma patient support group meeting on last Sunday and panel discussion was done where our panelists Dr Sameer Rastogi, Dr Shamim , Dr Adarsh barwad , Dr Aman , Dr sorun and Dr Atul addressed concerns of patients and caregivers regarding the treatment.It was an interactive session joined by 91 patients and caregivers from all over India.
Dr Shamim spoke about how pet scan can determine staging of cancer in sarcomas ?
What is the difference between pet scan and CT scan ?
Dr Adarsh Barwad spoke about role of pathology in sarcomas and why is block review important in sarcomas?
Dr Atul spoke about importance of immunotherapy in sarcomas.
Dr aman spoke about what sideeffects are faced due to imatinib and sunitinib and how to deal with them.
Dr Sameer Rastogi moderated the session and addressed concerns of patients and caregivers
Dr Sorun spoke about sideeffects that happen due to radiation and how to deal with it .
Individual patients concerns related to their treatment were also addressed during the session by respective panelists.
